Back in the Air Again! Finally, after many weeks of unfavorable conditions we were back in the air again. Several pilots came out Sat. afternoon for some flying. Mike Degtoff, Chris Zimmerman, Dan Bereczki, Kenneth Cobb, and the newly named "Hawker John" Krueger (which comes from his new job with NetJets flying the Hawker 1000) all enjoyed some airtime. The winds were S-SE and the temps got up to the mid 70s. It was a beautiful day with clear skies and there were some areas of light lift over the north end of the airport that provided a few extended flights. Gregg Ludwig provided a discovery tandem for Houstonian Mike Pollard and also worked with Michelle Guandabasan, from Austin, on her aero tow sign-off. The rocket group from Houston was at the airport for their annual show this past weekend. On Sat. we watched several rockets that were fired off and on Sun. Hawker John rescued one that had landed a few fields over to the west. He spotted it while flying the DF, landed out in the field to retrieve it and returned it to some very grateful owners. Kenneth Cobb was back out on Sun. and took one tow to 3500' for a nice sled ride. Carl Shortt, from Colorado, stopped by to visit our operation and enjoyed a nice flight on the Falcon 195. Gregg provided tandems for our new student Tommy Adkins and worked some more with Michelle. All in all it was a "nice weekend". |
