The weekend had a sketchy forecast, but John the Bomb and Carl Boddie showed up on Sat. for some flying. Winds were SE and strong enough for a distance attempt. John and Carl decided to go for it and see how far they could get. After towing up, they both headed north. John flew to the power plant that is off of Hwy. 6, about 20 miles out and decided to attempt a return. He made it back just short of the airport, about 5 miles out. Carl's flight was a bit shorter, only getting about 5 miles out. Sunday's conditions overdeveloped as the two were deciding whether or not to fly. It was a fun weekend that was topped of with dinner at Bob's Steakhouse Sat. night.
