| We
began loading up our equipment earlier this week for our event in south
Texas. Won't bore you with a long list of the equipment we brought, but
we're fully operational with our trike and Dragonfly for both HG and PG
services, as well as ultra light instruction. Local Harlingen pilot Tom
Rheman donated his winch for any truck towing, as well as a full size fridge
for the hanger. We were quite a site on the road, caravanning with our Dragonfly
trailer behind our van, our trike trailer behind our Toyota truck, and our
travel-trailer behind Fred's van. The City of Edinburg was very gracious
and accommodating upon our arrival, making sure we had immediate access
to our very nice hanger and getting the electricity hooked up. A horny toad
also greeted us, which none of us have seen since we were kids. We guess
he likes us since we see him just about everyday along with lots of other
wildlife and an incredible number of birds. It's like National Geographic
right at our back door! The conditions here have been quite awesome. The
winds are light in the morning and clouds start forming about 8 am. Conditions
begin to really turn on between 9 and 10 am. Tom Rheman was kind enough
to escort us down to Progreso, Mexico on Sunday for some lunch, margaritas,
and shopping. The margaritas were so good that Gaye rode the mechanical
bull, and didn't fall off! |
